The Business Skills migration program encourages successful business people to develop or invest in new or existing businesses in Australia, while providing them and their families with the opportunity of settling permanently in Australia. If you have a background in business management or high-level investment activities and are interested in investing in Australia, starting up a new business in Australia or purchasing an ownership interest in an existing Australian business, you and your family may be eligible for permanent residence status under Australia's business migration program. |

There are range of visa options under the General Skilled Migration program for skilled migrants who want to live in Australia and who do not have an employer sponsoring them. These include options for skilled people applying as an independent migrant as well as those sponsored by a relative, or nominated by a State or Territory government. The Skilled Migration Program is an official Government initiative to overcome skill shortages within the Australian workforce and to identify individuals who can make a valuable contribution to Australia's thriving economy. Australia's economy is thriving with over 150,000 jobs being advertised each week. |
| Temporary Work Visas | |

A program for employers to sponsor approved skilled workers to work in Australia on a temporary visa. Employers can nominate a number of positions for different occupations under the same sponsorship application. This is the most commonly used program for employers to sponsor overseas workers to work in Australia on a temporary basis. There are also special arrangements for employers in regional areas across Australia. |
| Employee Sponsorship | |

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) enables Australian employers to recruit highly skilled overseas workers where they are unable to fill specific positions from the Australian labour market or through their own training efforts. Streamlined arrangements have been put in place where an Australian employer is nominating a person under the ENS who has already been working for the employer in Australia on a suitable temporary residence visa. Nominees in this category will generally not be required to undergo a formal skills assessment before they qualify for a permanent residence visa under the ENS. |

The Spouse/Partner visa enables partners of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens to apply to enter and/or remain permanently in Australia. The Partner visa subclasses are specifically designed for people who are either married, in a de facto relationship, in an interdependent relationship or are offshore and are engaged to be married. |
